Hey everyone..🙋
Happy Sunday..🍭
I am back to being Me… Nee..😈ha ha ha loads of thoughts coming up but poor me can’t rant them all..😕
After getting a few lovely comments on the post The UP Saga!! I was asked to write something involving the term DOWN..⬇
So after racking my brains and searching here and there I came across this, so thought will share it with you all, not a Sunday Gyaan cause inner peace is still navigating it’s way back..😉
Hope it doesn’t bore you guys..I feel like a Wren and Martin text book right now..So pardon me for that..
So here we go..🌀
The word DOWN can be used in a number of ways
-as a preposition (followed by a noun), as in ‘She was walking DOWN the street’
-as an adverb, ‘She laydown and fell asleep’
-after the verb ‘to be’, as in ‘Shares were sharply down at the end of trading today’
– as an adjective, as in ‘He’s been feeling a bit down recently.’
-As a preposition, Down can be used in informal British English..
‘He’s down the pub with his mates’
-As an adverb, ‘going towards the south’,as in ‘Thousands of Scottish fans will be travelling down to London for the big match’.
-Down can also be used to mean ‘losing a game’, ‘At half-time, we were two goals down’
– (of a computer) ‘not working’,
‘I’m afraid our entire computer network is down at the moment.’
-you can also use down to refer to the number of tasks in a series that have been completed, ‘That’s another exam over. Two down and four to go.’
– If you are down for something, you have been chosen or are expected to do it, as in ‘I’m down for babysitting on Friday evening.’
-If something is down to somebody, they are responsible for dealing with it or making decisions about it, ‘It’s down to the prime minister to find out what went wrong.’
-If you are down on someone, you dislike them or disapprove of them,’Why is the teacher always down on me? I’ve got low marks again.’
Wasn’t it tooo Downey an affair???
My head was spinning at the end of this..😢😓😫
So without wasting much time being Down here’s wishing all a happy week ahead!!Cause the countDOWN to the festive season in India has already begun..💝
We have NAVRATRIS arriving soon..followed by Dusshera /Vijaydashami and then the festival of lights..DIWALI/DEEPAVALI..so looking forward to them with glee…😇
Until next time, signing off with a gyaan ..Don’t let things get you Down.😎
