Hello everyone..
Had been busy with the durga puja celebrations at my husbands ancestral place.
The Navratris ( Nine nights) concluded recently , it’s the 9 day festival before the Indian festival dusshera or Vijaya Dashami  where in the Goddess Parvathi/Ma Durga ( the consort of the Hindu God Lord  Shiva) is worshipped in her different forms.
Navaratri is celebrated four times a year, the one which recently concluded is the most important one called as Sharada Navratri.
Finally on the last day Dashami( 10th day) is celebrated,  as a tribute to Lord Rama killing Ravana after taking blessing from the Goddess Durga.
Confusing right?? Il come up with a post shortly explaining the story behind it.
Since I was busy visiting our  ancestral place in West Bengal called Ranaghat , where the celebrations started from  Sashthi ( the 6th day ) never got time to open wordpress.
I will be posting a series of events shortly, Just to share the rich cultures of India  and our traditions.
Hope you all have a good Sunday  and a great week ahead.

Hello everyone..🙋

Here’s hoping all a great  weekend..
Not a Gyaani post this time but just a small one sharing a beautiful  message I received..

Most of my friends here might have read this, for those of you who haven’t, this is just a reflection of the small things we fail to stop, see, ponder and cheer up about..

10 Two & three liner short stories..

1) She was very excited today, after all the school was re-opening after a long summer break.
Now, once again, she could start selling stationery at the traffic signal to feed her family.

image

2) She, a renowned artist and a strict mother, often scolded her 6-year-old son for he could never draw a line straight.
As he breathed slowly into the ventilator, she begged him to make one more crooked line on the ECG.

image

3) “Everyone goes with the flow… but the one who goes against it becomes someone remarkable.”
Before I could explain this to the traffic police, the man issued me a Fine.

image

4) Their love was different; She was happy every time he kicked her in the stomach.
Every time he kicked she loved him more. She waited for the time she would hold her baby for the first time.

image

5) All my toys are yours…!
Read her brother’s death note.

image

6) They took his father,
and only returned a flag.

image

7) At 25, I became a mother of one; at 27 I became a mother of two; and today, at 55, I have become a mother of three!
My son got married today, and brought home his wife!

image

8) “Born to rich parents, this boy is so lucky,” exclaimed the neighbors!
Somewhere in heaven, three unborn sisters cried.

image

9) “You ruined my career, I was supposed to be an executive director,” she thought to herself.
The little angel held her finger tightly and she forgot everything; A mother was born.

image

10) Once a 5-year-old boy was standing barefoot in the shallow water of the ocean.
He was repeating the same sentence to the waves – “Even if you touch my feet a thousand times, I won’t forgive you for taking my parents away.

Looks long and boring 💤💤 but very easy to make..
This Recipe has been shared by a dear friend of mine Hemanth.. 👮

Ok without much ado let’s go about it.. 🌀

THE  RECIPE

The actual Preparation time takes approx 20 minutes..

( Deveined)

Onion – 1 medium  (Diced)

Cornflour – 2 teaspoons

Oil for deep frying

For the Marination,
From Clockwise

Turmeric powder – 1/2  teaspoon

Chilli powder – 2 teaspoons

Vinegar – 1 teaspoon

Ginger paste – 1/2 teaspoon

Garlic paste – 1/2 teaspoon

For the green masala,
From Clockwise

Green chillies – 3

Ginger – 1 small piece  (diced)

Garlic – 4 to 5 medium pods

Curry leaves –  3 strips

Fresh Coriander – 1 cup

Sugar – 1/2 teaspoon ( to be added in the end)

Grind all coarsely.. (water should not be added)

METHOD :

1. Add the Cornflour to the  prawn marinate and mix well.

2. Now deep fry the marinated prawns until golden brown.

3. In a non stick pan, using the same oil, add in the onions and sauté until just about softened (we don’t want them browned)

4. Add in the green masala and a  pinch of salt and sauté a bit more.

5. Now add in the deep fried Prawns and mix till each one is coated.

6. Sprinkle in the sugar..
And bingo it’s readyyy.. 😋😋

Can be served as a side dish or as an evening snack with Tomato ketchup or Green chilli sauce..

(This Recipe can also be tried with Prawns being substituted with Cauliflower, Panner (cottage cheese) Mushrooms and Potatoes)

Weekend Gyaan!!!

Hello everyone..🙋
Just felt like sharing some Weekend Gyaan.. ( Sanskrit word for knowledge)
My mom used to tell me the following story and I always followed and try to still follow  it especially when I find myself in situations of helplessness and where I had to muster up courage to carry on things on my own make my own decisions, with just a silent prayer to God to help me accomplish it and guide me.
I am sure most of my  friends here have heard it too, but just thought il share it with you all.
( Pardon my lingo at the end, just changed it to have some fun)

There was this person, a villager 👳 who was caught up in  floods.
He climbed onto the roof of his house 🏡 and kept praying to God to rescue him.🙏

image

One Boat 🚤 arrived filled with people they had rescued . The boatman 🚣  told the villager to climb onto the boat.
The villager refused and told the boatman  “No no, I won’t come, God is there, He will save me!! ”

image

The water level kept rising. 🌊
Another rescue boat came by, the villager again refused said  the same thing “No no, God will rescue me”
The water level rose drastically, another boat came by and our God loving/fearing villager repeated  the same dialogue. 🙇

image

Finally the water level rose beyond rescue and he drowned in it. 😣

image

Thereafter, when he went to heaven he met God and told Him..

image

“O Almighty, you are omnipotent and omnipresent, I kept waiting for you to come and rescue me, but you did not come at all,  what’s  the use of having faith in you,  when you are not present to help your children.”
God cooly replied ( let’s make it the modern lingo of mine)

image

😇 “Dude I did come, but you did not recognize me, I did try to protect and save you, I sent help not once nor twice but thrice in the form of rescue boats but you were hell bent on me coming in person and helping you which isn’t possible so it’s your loss baby! ”

So.. moral of the story??!! 👀
God helps those who help themselves??!!👉 👳 👈 The saying makes sense now!!
God won’t come in person and  HELP!! NOPE!! He is no Iron man or Batman, that he will  come and eliminate the trouble makers in our lives.🙅
He will create occasions and  situations for us to use and benefit ourselves,  which most of the time we fail to see and  learn..so thats my story..
I am sure all of us have been  through similar situations where a decision made by us, taking a chance has turned out positive and  fruitful.
Maybe that’s God’s  way of indirectly helping us.
Do you agree my friends??
Have a great weekend.. 🙂
